In der Fortsetzung entkommen John und seine Freunde aus dem Kaufhaus und der Schach spielende Dämon lässt zunächst von ihnen ab. Doch die Ruhe währt nicht lange, denn er sucht sich ein neues Opfer aus dem Sinclair-Team.Der zweite Teil hält leider nicht das, was der erste Teil versprochen hat. Zwar sind der Schreibstil und der Handlungsablauf (für einen Roman des Schöpfers) auf einem guten Niveau, wobei im zweiten Teil mehr Handschrift von Jason Dark erkennbar ist, als im Vorgängerteil, doch im Detail sind deutliche Schwächen erkennbar.Insbesondere die Befreiungsaktion in Verbindung mit dem Verhalten des Dämons wirkt am Ende sehr unglaubhaft.Zwischendrin glaubte ich, einen klassischen (für Jason Dark typischen) "Regiefehler" bemerkt zu haben, als der Dämon in der zweiten Romanhälfte überlegt, John Sinclair anzurufen und mitzuteilen, wen er in seiner Gewalt hat, was er jedoch schon längst getan hatte.Da fällt die Frage nach dem Sinn und Zweck der Einführung des Jungen Ronny im ersten Teil noch am Rande auf, denn im zweiten Teil spielt er keine Rolle mehr. (Welche hatte er im ersten Teil? Keine Ahnung.)So bleibt trotz erträglicher Dialoge und flüssigen Schreibstils nur ein mittelmäßiger, nicht so ganz überzeugender Roman.
